« Happy birthday to us! Wednesday, February 19, 2004 »
*Gasp!* As I was updating the Archive page, I realized I'd missed the site's birthday! It was on the 8th! Eleven days ago! How could I have done that?! Anyway, in honor of the birthday (well, not really, but shh!), I'm slowly removing all the "cancerous" JavaScript at the end of every page. It had been for the hit counter, but that has since been discontinued. No worries, though, as my host provides much more detailed statistics, without anything on the pages! So far, they have been removed on the What's New page, the Archive page, the 404 page, the Hearts page, the Splash page, the Links page, the Link to Us page, and the About Us page. I chose these pages because they are the pages I've updated most recently. In addition to removing the JavaScript on the Links page, I've also added a link to Link's Realm.

« Minor updates! Wednesday, February 18, 2004 »
Pretty minor updates today. I just saw some things that needed fixing. The Splash page got a compliancy upgrade while I was in the process of fixing the Forums link. Also, I stumbled across Zelda Phoenix at its new address and re-added it to the Links page. The general layout got a touch-up as well, along with the edition of a 404 page.

« I'm back with updates! Sunday, February 15, 2004 »
Oh my.... Between major downtime and not updating since September, this site has been very slow-going. We've actually been back up since January 20th, but I haven't updated anything until today. I've got a few (minor) updates to report today, so here goes. Keep in mind that every page listed has been optimized to be XHTML compliant (minus those pages with marquees on them, as marquees are not valid XHTML). On the Hearts page, I added the heart piece images to represent the ¼ heart pieces and minor numerical changes were done to the Link to Us Page. Unfortunately, I've had to remove many links from the Links page because the websites or their banners no longer existed. On the other hand, I also updated some of the links or banners that were incorrect. I've updated the About Us page to contain more accurate information. I've also updated the main layout and its stylesheet to format it better (and other assorted changes).

« History, staff, and XHTML! Tuesday, September 2, 2003 »
Oops! I haven't updated in a month! Sorry about that. There's not much to report in this update, but here's what I've got: I have added our new staff members to the About Us page (dnoyeb2002 and Zeroer), but their pics are not available yet. (Actually, I don't even have Zeroer's real name.... :?) I've also added our nicknames on the forum so that you can identify who is who. Most were pretty obvious, but it's just to make sure. I've updated the History page a bit, as it still said Version 2.0 was coming soon. And I've now decided that the current version (with the Top Sites on the side panel) will be referred to as Version 2.1. Version 3.0 is still in the works, but I have made no progress on it, physically, although some mental work has been done. As I updated the pages, I corrected the XHTML compliancy issues, and as such, the History, About Us, and What's New pages should be completely valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional. I leave you now with this final message: School starts tomorrow and I don't know how much it of my free time it will take up. Hopefully, it won't take up too much, and you'll see the same (or better) update times.

« Links, links, everywhere! Wednesday, August 6, 2003 »
Look at that! Two updates in less than a weeks' time! Imagine that.... This update is basically based on links/URLs. As you should already know, I have purchased the LTTP.net domain name and its use should be in full swing. I'd like to try and phase out any references to our old address and start getting into the habit of using LTTP.net. So, back to the point. I went around and updated the Link to Us and About Us pages to change the URLs and E-mail addresses, which have also been transferred over. (But I didn't bother to change the references to the site in the What New or Archives section, as the URL still works, just don't use it.;-)) I'm not sure if the any e-mail sent to the old address will reach the new address, but let's not chance it. I've also I added a few new links to the Links page: Zelda Eternity, Zelda Legacy, Zelda Net, and Zelda Velocity. Remember, that page has a lot of images on it, so it may load slow. I also used the opportunity to finish making the Links page (X)HTML-correct by eliminating the remaining capital tags and attributes. You also may notice there's a fourth section of the left side of the screen. I've included links to two of the Top Sites I have joined. It's not where I would have liked to put them, but it's the only room I had. The new layout will have room for the Top Site links, and they will include 88×31 buttons, as well. I have not actually had time to work on the new layout lately, as I've been busy with other things, but I think that it's almost done anyway. It's very simple, so I may jazz it up a bit before release. By the way, you can use the Top Site links (along with the Links page) to find more Zelda sites, and other sites too.

« Maps, items, and a domain name! Friday, August 1, 2003 »
I've got a few things to report, so here we go. First and foremost, I have bought the domain name LTTP.net using the RackNine service, as it was only $8.75 USD. The DNS is still setting up, so don't expect it to work until at least next week. You can continue to reach the site from http://lttp.l2p.net/ both before and after the domain name kicks in. In honor of the domain name, and despite the recent release of Version 2.0 of the layout, I will be redesigning the site once again. The reason being that as soon as I released the new layout, I disliked it and wanted to make a new one. I've decided to take a simpler and more user and browser-friendly approach. Currently Netscape 7.1's incompatibilities with certain CSS (and other unknowns) are holding me up. Regardless of the fact that more than half of my visitors use Internet Explorer, I want Netscape compatibilty because I want to be able to view my own site properly.;-) If you have any complaints about this or other issues, please report them on the Forums. In other news, I have fixed up the Maps sub-pages of Hyrule Castle and the Eastern Palace to fit Version 2.0 the way they're supposed to. I'm also in the process of redoing the current Hyrule Castle maps with Paint Shop Pro 8 that I bought, so they will be better quality. I have already re-done one of the Hyrule Castle maps and I have also done the two Eastern Palace maps. In addition, I reorganized the Items page to conform to my standards a little more. Well, that should tide you over for now, and keep checking back for undocumented items, maps, and hearts additions.

« Many minor updates! Monday, July 15, 2003 »
Well, I'm back for the first time since the release of Version 2.0 and I've fixed some various (X)HTML-compliance problems. I did some work on the Bosses and Maps pages. I've eliminated most (if not all) of the errors on those pages left over from the switch and I re-arranged some of the code in order to have the best standard compliance and proper output in all browsers. All links throughout the site should work now, so if there's an invalid link, please alert me at the Forums. I've added new items to the Items page, but remember that it's still under construction, so images won't show and descriptions will be wrong. The Hearts page is under construction as well. I think that's all for now. As always, you can find me at the forums if you need me.

« Version 2.0! Tuesday, July 1, 2003 »
After a very long wait, Version 2.0 has finally been released! I hope you all like it, because I worked hard on it. Because of a little change in the way pages are called, some things may be a little out of wack. There are more details on the Forums. Also, the banner contest has been won, as you can see. Those details are in the Forums, as well. I'm still updating some of the pages, so if something doesn't look right or like it used to, just wait a minute and refresh the page. One of these things that I'm doing is updating all the links on this What's New page and in the News Archive.

« I'm back again! Wednesday, June 25, 2003 »
I've been gone for another whole month, but I'm back now! And today was my 8th grade graduation, so I'll be going to the High School next year... But there's two and a half months until then! I'll be working on the site more often (I hope ;-)) so expect some more updates. The new layout is coming along great! I believe I only have a few tweaks left until it's ready for release. Maybe... July 1st? As I'm writing this and asking my online buddies their opinions on the new layout, I just got an idea for a contest. Make A Link to the Past a banner! The rules for the contest will be on the forums. Please register there, we need members. Also, there's a huge game going on at the forums: Team Zelda Interactive! It's an interactive Zelda game where the members of the forum must work as a team (hence the name) in order to complete the game. The Links page has been updated to include a different banner for Zelda Power and we've also linked to Zelda System. There would have been more links, but a few sites are in the process of updating, and they do not have banners yet. If you would like to be linked by us, send me an e-mail. The address can be found on the About Us page. Again, please continue to pardon out dust as we prepare you bring you a better website.

« I'm back! Sunday, May 25, 2003 »
Well, I've been gone for about a month now, so I figured I'd give you an update before May ended.... I also needed an excuse to test out this news thing. I'm working on Version 2.0 and if you click the thumbnail in the History section, you'll see it looks nothing like what it used to. :-D We are listed in the first 10 listings in both Google and Yahoo! when you search for things like "A Link to the Past" or "link to the past" or things of that nature. As the message on the "front door" says, please pardon our dust. I have replaced the green images at the top of each page with smaller, yellow ones and a few pages turn grey when to click them. This is in preparation for the new layout. Not much to say, except: please register at the forums! I'm there everyday, so that's where you can reach me if you need to. :-D See ya later.

« More links, to us and from us! Friday, April 25, 2003 »
Well, it's only been 8 days this time, but I'm back again. Not that I had actually gone anywhere, because I was at the Forums the whole time, working to perfect them. My Spring Break is coming to an end (I go back on Monday), so I thought I'd give you a little information, so you don't feel abandoned. We are now listed in a few more search engines: Startium.com (search for a link to the past walkthrough), Google Canada (search for A link to the Past), and, get this, Yahoo! (search for "a link to the past"). This I'm very happy about. I've also added some links to the Links page: Link vs. Ganon, Zelda Galaxy, and I was gonna put up a link to Zelda Power but they're down as of now. Go figure. On a side note, I made the banner that the webmaster of Zelda Galaxy is using. He, by the way, is a new moderator at the Forums. Don't know when or what the next update will be, but you can always find me at the forums if you need me.

« New stuff is coming! Thursday, April 17, 2003 »
After ten days, I'm back! And I brought a lot of stuff with me. Just today, I've added the History page, because I'm working on a new layout. Go there to see old and new layouts. In the forums, I've added many a mod for convenience. You can see if the member is online, you can see their rank in the Memberlist, plus (and this is my favorite) I've added a Spoiler tag! I'm so happy about that! I've also gained the "rights" to HTML-ize a couple more FAQ/Walkthroughs, but don't expect any of them for a long time. Another great thing is that we're listed by Google! Just look for "Link to the Past" (without the quotes) and you'll find us somewhere on the first page! By the way, I hadn't for a week because of school and my playing the Wind Waker, and then I didn't update on the weekend either because I knew that Thursday would start my Spring Break... Today's Thursday! I'm off for today, tomorrow, and then all of next week, so expect updates. Have a nice day and please join the Forums.

« Updated staff and a (hidden) walkthrough! Monday, April 7, 2003 »
Hello again! I've finally added the Forums Moderator Adam to the Staff list, found on the About Us page. Pics of both of us coming soon. Also, I've "secured the rights" to a FAQ/Walkthrough and I've submitted for the "rights" to others. I'm gonna HTML-ize them (yes, I have permission), which will take a while, so be patient. The one I do have is up on the Web, but I'm not telling where! If you want it so bad, find it yourself!

« Minor updates and search engine listings! Saturday, April 5, 2003 »
This is a brief, almost not-worth-it update, but I tweaked the Maps-Hycast and Home pages.... Also, the more important news: We're listed by ExactSeek and ScrubTheWeb. Just search for "Link to the Past" (without the quotes) to find us. That's all. See you soon!

« Links, links, and more links! Friday, April 4, 2003 »
Hello, sorry for the lack of updates this past week... Unfortunately I have school.... Anyway, there are about 6 more links on the Links page to tide you over. There's more content to come, soon, because my Spring Break starts next Thursday (Holy Thursday[?]/the day before Good Friday) and it goes for the whole week after that! I think I'll be implementing JavaScript very soon, so, for those of you who don't have it, you better get it and turn it on if you want to view this site to the fullest.
Addition: I've added a Newsletter Subscription code on the Home page. Go subscribe to the Newsletter!

« Hearts and Japanese! Saturday, March 29, 2003 »
Well, I've gotten some more stuff up on the Hearts page today. This includes about 10 screenshots of their locations. I've included 20 out of 24 names of the locations to help identify them until I get the descriptions and screenshots up. I'm also beginning to translate this website into Japanese, since the game was originally made in Japanese. I am even using the Japanese name for the header! One other thing, I think the banners now allow hotlinking, so please use them instead of a text link! Thanks so much!

« Links, here and there! Friday, March 28, 2003 »
First things first: I haven't updated for a week, because I was busy. I had a report due on Tuesday, my GameCube arrived Tuesday afternoon, and my Zeldas arrived on Wednesday. I've played both and, since I've played OoT so much, I like TWW better. Anyway, I've had the Links page updated since the 20th or 22nd, but I forgot to upload it.... I just added another link today, too. I'm being linked to left and right, and I'm very happy. There are some sites (who shall remain nameless) who will not POLITELY reply to a request to return a favor. I will not be spiteful, and I will keep being nice about it (because mine's not the site who's down :-P). The new sites that linked to me since the last update are: E-Zelda, The Legends of Zelda, and Zelda Zone. You can also find my link in some posts at the Great Deku Tree forums. One other thing: History of Hyrule has brought me 41 hits (as of 10:00PM today) since they began linking me. Thanks again to History of Hyrule!

« We've been linked, again! Thursday, March 20, 2003 »
OK, I'm back from vacation. While I was gone, a lot of things happened:
  1. I got a GameCube.
  2. 5 sites linked to us.
  3. We got 41 hits (as of 9:00AM today).
  4. I looked for more Zelda links and I found some.
  5. I worked on a Newsletter, that I hope will be out soon.
The 5 sites that linked to us are: History of Hyrule, Jordan's Page(?), Link's Legacies, Zelda Planet, and Zelda Power Central. Hopefully more people will link to me and I will get even more hits. I have added those links that I found (which are David's Zelda 64 Site, The Hylian Weekly, Zelda Elite, Zelda Forever, Zelda Funny!, and Zelda Zone) to the Links page, so check them out. I plan on finishing the Newsletter and putting a Subscribe script or code on the site somewhere... I haven't decided anything yet.... I've added a BabelFish translator to the Splash page so you can view my site in multiple languages.

« We've been linked! Sunday, March 16, 2003 »
I haven't updated a single thing (except this, of course) because I'm still on vacation, but I just wanted to say that we're being linked to by 4 people, as of today: History of Hyrule, Link's Legacies, Zelda Planet, and Zelda Power Central. The three new ones linked to us in the past 5 days. Thanks! The links to those sites, and more, can be found on the Links page. So far, thanks to these sites, we've gotten 26 hits in the past month. It may not sound like a lot, but I only came online in February, and I only started tracking in the beginning of March. I've gotten the most hits from History of Hyrule (16), so thanks so much! You guys have yet to register in the forum—the only ones there are me and ZPC. Register and win!!!

« Many little updates! Monday, March 10, 2003 »
I've updated little bits and pieces here and there, I posted a new thing or two on the Forums, and I added a News Archive for all news items over a month old. Eventually, I will need a second News Archive (when the first one gets too big), but definitely not yet. There will be BASICALLY no updates for another week or so because I'm going on vacation, so enjoy what you have until about next Thursday. I might update tomorrow and I might update next Wednesday, but that's a big IF.

« Many updates! Sunday, March 9, 2003 »
Boy, I've updated a lot today. There's a new link on the Links page (Zelda Phoenix), a few things on the Items page, a few things on the Hearts page, and a few things on the Contributors page. We have a new member on the Forums: Zelda Power Central. Webmasters register your site name before someone else does! Remember: the contests ("Register!" and "Our Forums Need A New Look!") are still underway, and there are prizes for both. Enter now!

« New pages! Saturday, March 8, 2003 »
First off, I'd like to say that we got a second visitor from LinksLegacies.com. The first one was using Windows 98 and this one was using Windows ME. OK, now for the more important stuff: I've added a few new pages. They are the Contributors page, Items page, and Hearts page. The latter two are empty, but they're there. I also added a link to The Legends of Zelda, so check all of that stuff out!
Addition: I've fixed the register problem with the Forums! Go register here!
Addition 2: I've added a tiny bit to the Items page.

« Tracking devices! Hit counters! Wednesday, March 5, 2003 »
Guess what! We got our first non-me visitor today! And, get this, from a link on LinksLegacies.com, the one (and only, for that matter) who linked to us! Thanks again, Link's Legacies, and thanks to that first visitor! I hope you come back! [This visitor came this morning, sometime between 8AM and 9AM EST.] Also, I've added banners at the bottom of almost every page. They look like Ads, are said to be Ads, but are actually hit counters from HitBox. There is no need to click on those HitBox banners, unless you want a FREE counter for your own website. Be very careful on the Links page—that's not a Zelda link at the bottom called "privacy"! ;-)

« Another update! Tuesday, March 4, 2003 »
I updated again today: I added an add/hit-counter to the index/splash page that you get by going to http://lttp.iwebland.com/, I added ALT tags to almost, if not all of the heading images, and I changed a tiny bit of HTML here and there.... I still have to finish the HTML on the other pages. And I promise that there are Items, Heart Pieces, Bosses, and Maps pages in the making. (Of course, I don't know how long they'll be in the making.... *sigh*) I have the pages for them, there's just no content on them yet. Oh, and don't go searching for them, 'cause I didn't upload them yet. ;-)

« An update! Saturday, March 1, 2003 »
OK, I updated today, but nothing spectacularly major. I just made some minor, barely noticeable changes to the Maps and Bosses pages (and their relative sub-pages).

« More links! Tuesday, February 25, 2003 »
OK, I added another link to the Links page: The Windfish's Egg. If you go there, you'll see that I kinda lied before.... Although I would prefer regular sized banners, I will accept banners at around 60 pixels in height and at least 234 pixels in width. We also have a problem with the Forums (apparently you can't register, due to a problem with the configuration), but go see them anyway. If you have any insight as to how to fix the problem, please e-mail me at LoZLttP@yahoo.com. I am awaiting an e-mail from my host for information that may help me....

« We have a forum! Saturday, February 22, 2003 »
You heard me right! We now have a forum, located at this location. Go over there and register! Then check out the Contests board! There are already 2 contests going on!!! WOW! Enjoy the boards while I get more content up. Oh, and by the way, I think I fixed the PHP/image problem.... Check out the Maps page, too!

« Major layout change! Wednesday, February 19, 2003 »
OK, it's not that major, but it's bigger than minor. I've been working on this all afternoon. I've got new titles, a link banner, a link button, and a Bosses page. Plus, LinksLegacies.com is the first to link to us. Thanks Link's Legacies!
Addition: I added a beautiful header in place of that ugly header of just our name in a fancy font.

« Links! Tuesday, February 18, 2003 »
I've been link-searching all day (no not that Link, hyper-link) and I found a lot. If you want me to link to your site, then e-mail your site name, address, and banner location. I only accept large/regular-sized banners, not small buttons or text-only links. For examples of what I accept go to the Links Page. While you're there, click on some links. If any of those sites asks, tell them where you found the link! (That would be here, A Link to the Past <http://lttp.iwebland.com/>.)

« Expect updates! Saturday, February 15, 2003 »
Well, I'm off all for the next week for Winter Vacation, so you can expect updates—major and minor—all week. I'm having a problem with PHP and images, so if anyone can help, e-mail me at LoZLttP@yahoo.com. Because of this, the maps will probably not show on the pages, although they are there. To view the maps, take away the "?page=" part and add .html to the end, until this problem is solved. To get back to the Maps page, just use your back button. For example, change this to this.

« We're up and running! Saturday, February 8, 2003 »
Well, this is the first update, so everything you see on the site is new. This includes our PHP homepage, the What's New section (this one), the Links section, and the About Us section. There's PLENTY more to come so sit tight, and enjoy the ride!
Addition: I've added the Maps section with a few maps. More to come!
